Meet Tammy Lauritsen! Tammy is the bookkeeper and works out of our Portland, Maine office. She has been with DiMillo’s since 2017 and is an incredible asset to the team!
Tammy grew up in Freeport, Maine, and spent her summers on an island in Harpswell that has been in her family since 1859. She always felt connected to the ocean and is happiest on the water. After high school, Tammy explored the west coast, but missed her Maine roots, and returned to attend college to major in Business Administration. Tammy started Crystal Lake Secretarial putting her skills to use providing local small businesses with bookkeeping and administrative services. In 2002, an opportunity arose to join a new and upcoming company in the position of Controller, where she successfully aided in their growth as it became a Fortune 5000 company for 8 years running. In 2016, Tammy made the decision to scale back and seek a less demanding schedule. In April 2017, the opportunity opened to join the crew at DiMillo’s Yacht Sales as the bookkeeper, which she promptly accepted as she knew it was the right path for her.
Today, Tammy resides in Gray, Maine, and enjoys spending her time off with her son, Benjamin, and German Shepherd, Ryka! Tammy and her family spend as much time as possible out at their island camp enjoying the many splendors of Casco Bay or kayaking in the lake behind her home! She is also an avid skier at Sunday River and has donated much of her time to Maine Adaptive Sports and Duck’s Unlimited, one of the nation’s largest supporters of wetlands conservation.
